Justin's last baseball game of the season was on May 16. Our team has a great team mom, Kelly, who has a great mom that frequently brings Carter, Kelly's youngest son, with her to the games since Kelly has to come from work to get there. Carter's a sweet little kid and has become fast friends with me and Liam. Carter's grandma must be an amazing lady because Liam, who seldom goes to anyone other than his father or me, sits by her and unabashedly eats every snack she brings. The joke has been that Liam loves her snacks, however, Thursday's game proved differently; it's her. He willingly sat by her while I took Justin to the bathroom (Doug was across the field taking team pictures) and I appreciated having someone I trust willing to watch him. The best was yet to come. Getting restless an inning in, he held her hand so she could take Carter and him to sit in the grass. I was amazed! They sat there for a long time. Liam has always had anxiety about being left with people he doesn't know, often getting so upset he holds his breath. It was a beautiful thing to watch him respond with trust and excitement to someone whose not me or his dad!
Encouraging? Beyond words!
Paula that is very sweet. My mom loves hanging out with Liam and so does Carter, Carter was asking about him on Saturday. I am so happy to know you guys, and to have had the chance to hang out Liam. We will have to hang out as a family, or a girls night, now that baseball is over. ;)
